Cathy, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent at any age is difficult. It does sound from what I read that he lived a very full life and was well loved by his family and those he worked with. My sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family. Elise-Anne

In the afternoon of Friday May 11 1990 Uncle Hugh formally consecrated the marriage of Kim Kennedy to me in his Richmond Hill courtroom, which is, as he explained, where his remit to perform such ceremonies started and ended.

The following day he repeated the ceremony, with more pomp and circumstance, at the Oakville Club, where, resplendent in his robes, he eclipsed everyone but the bride, who was even more resplendent in bright pink. No-one but a few were any the wiser.

His words were insprirational and I can report it has been a very good union so far. His role in it continues to be appreciated. He was a delightful man and lived a full life.

It was an honour to know HH Zimmerman when he presided at the Newmarket Eagle Street Courthouse. He always had a kind word and a smile whenever our paths met during a busy work day. I appreciate the time in his work life that his family allowed us to share with him. May His Honour rest in peace.
