It has been 60 years since i had the good luck to meet Bob and Mike whitmarsh when they lived in ravensview {I believe it was called} outside kingston. At the time I was 16, and worked weekends at Loblaws as did Mike and Bobs sister judy as a cashier. her beauty captivated me and every chance i could get to pack groceries for her i took it.....somehow i managed to finagle, or it could have been judy who invited me to go fishing with her brothers, i am not sure.... somehow i received an invite to her home where i met two of the most wonderful guys who in fact took a no nothing fisherman like me with them on a weekend expedition to a small island we boated to....i must say i nearly froze during the first night stay but on the second nite they put me in the middle and i was as warm as could be....all i can say is i have never forgotten their generosity to me and my first weekend fishing trip. it has stayed with me all these years and i have a warm feeling when i think about it.i must say also, i can still see the beautiful judy as if it was yesterday. thanks mike and robert....rest in peace......carl....

Doreen, Donna, Darlene and family, I am so sorry for your loss. It is with great sadness that we hear of this news. I was incredibly influenced by Mr.Whitmarsh (Bob) and family. He showed me the type of man I wanted to be. How he was with his wife, family, friends and community inspired me. I have many good memories of him and his lovely family: cottage, home,working at CHT Steel, Richmond hill Winter Carnival. I thank him for being the man he was. Dear Doreen, Donna and Darlene, We are SO sorry to be learning of Bob's passing. I went on marshals site to find a funeral time for my friends father and saw Bob's name. My dad John Gibson always considered Bob a dear friend. He enjoyed almost 30 years playing baseball with Bob and both of my parents were honored to be at your 50th wedding Anniversary celebration. Doreen & Family. I am very glad to have known Bob, he was a great friend. Going back to coaching the girls in baseball, playing on the Brew Jays and camping at the various tournaments, playing golf and loosing money to him, and many many games of cards over the years. I am very sad that he is no longer here and I will miss him.
